Hemingway, Ernest. CONCLUDING THE CHRISTMAS GIFT -- Part II. New York: Look Magazine, [1954]. First edition. Folio. Stamped "Advance Press Sheets" on the portfolio cover. Ten folio pages printed on the rectos only, comprising the text of Hemingway's account of the crashing of his airplane in the African jungle. Illustrated with photographs of the author and his hunting party. Look magazine published this extended essay in its April 20 and May 4, 1954 issues after sending these portfolios for purposes of publicity. The front cover of the original mailing envelope for this copy is postmarked April 12, 1954, clearly establishing these sheets as the first appearance of the essay. Thus, an unrecorded "A" item, as much a primary text as two other magazine offprints, "Voyage To Victory" (Grissom A19) and "Safari" (Grissom A26). Loose sheets in folder. Fine.
