Mimeographed pages bound in studio wrappers. 4to. An early working draft movie script that preceded the seven-scene film version. The script under discussion, though, includes four additional episodes on taboo subjects such as masturbation, an auto-erotic encounter between the Long Ranger and Tonto, and a tryst whose principals are a lady tourist in Rome and the Pope. It takes little imagination to understand why these additional scenes were exorcised from the finished movie.

  This copy is inscribed by Woody Allen to movie critic and rare-book collector Clive Hirschhorn. Rare on two counts: the presence of Allen's inscription -- he is an unusually reluctant signer of his materials -- and the lamentable fact that the cut scenes are nowhere else to be encountered.
