Lithograph, 6" x 8 1/2", of a fantastical, brightly-colored creature whose title is boldly spelled out by the artist and inscribed: "For Joe -- a near failure. 6/7/69. Henry Miller." The lithograph is present in "The Paintings of Henry Miller" (Capra Press, 1982). Joe Gray, a Hollywood stunt man, was a member of Henry Miller's circle of Pacific Palisades friends during the late years of his life. Framed under glass. Fine.
