[Movies]. Feiffer, Jules. LITTLE MURDERS

$750.00

New York: Alexander Cohen / Shubert Theater, 1966. Original playscript, 90 hectographed pages in blue wrappers. 4to. A black comedy by the Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist that depicts urban paranoia and a family's subsequent fragmentation that Feiffer has said was inspired by the Martin Luther King and Kennedy assassinations. The play flopped after a run of seven performances, but was the basis for the 1971 movie of the same name. Feiffer adapted the play for the screen. Alan Arkin directed and enacted a key role in the film, which turned out to be a popular and critical success. Fine.
