of a Camden, Maine, landscape. Sept. 16, 1938. With a handwritten sentiment (in Italian) signed by Menotti. The card is also signed by Samuel Barber. Menotti and Barber were both major classical music composers of the 20th Century and lived together for many years from the time when both were studying music as teenagers. Though neither signature is overly scarce, to have them both on paper together and so early is highly uncommon. Fine.
